The need for npmxOn January 22nd 2026, Daniel Roe, open-source maintainer and founder, and leader of the Nuxt core team, had an idea, and made the first commit to the npmx repository. The next day, Daniel posted on Bluesky asking about people’s frustrations with the npm experience – both on the web and in the CLI.
